Is Blackberry manufacturing other appliances apart from mobile devices?

Blackberry is looking at expanding its gadgets base from just phones to other BlackBerry-branded gadgets. Though BlackBerry doesn't release much of its own hardware anymore, the name still appears on new smartphones, and recently, its licensing practice will apply outside of mobile devices.

Are we looking at a set of BlackBerry branded tablets, wearables, medical devices, appliances, and point-of-sale terminals, all with a touch of the BlackBerry DNA?. A spokeswoman confirmed that every product will feature tech or code from BlackBerry, likely in the form of its security-minded version of Android or enterprise services. The company even gave this strategy a name, In fact, an expansion of the "Enterprise of Things," which might be the only thing worse than the actual Internet of Things.

Well, for a once productive brand, this strategy will hopefully improve things for them. The company announced in December that TCL had acquired the global rights to brand its phones with the BlackBerry name. The most recent BlackBerry phones, the DTEK50 and DTEK60 , were already made by TCL using parts from the Alcatel Idol 4.
Blackberry has decided to go into licensing following the small share the company had in the smartphone market. With its license, expect the name 'BlackBerry' on everything.
