In a report from Bloomberg, the smartphone will add the security feature within months of release as Samsung looks to differentiate the device from rival offerings. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is tipped to be unveiled on March 29.
Bloomberg sources say that the Galaxy S8 will combine fingerprints technology with iris and facial detection to verify users accessing mobile services including its Samsung Pay platform. Banks are also working with the company to embrace facial recognition systems.
The Galaxy S8 will be the first Galaxy to use the technology to verify financial transactions. Samsung also has its customers anticipating its own voice assistant technology which will be called Bixby.
This strategies should put Samsung back on track after losing its customers to the fire crisis plaqued Note 7 device last year.
