The benefits of UberPool lies not only on the fact that it offers an alternative to public transportation such as taking a bus, but it also provides a unique strategy that benefits both users and Uber itself. For example it brings down the price for individual customers which inturn leads to increased patronage, and in turn increased revenue for Uber.
The changes made are focused on refining the earlier "Walk to the corner" system it already had in place as a result of customer complaints about how the current process was working. Uber says it will better focus on picking the right street corner for riders to walk to, making sure that correct sides of the street and direction come into play. CLICK HERE!!!
This it will do by adjusting pickups before the light to be less stressful on drivers, and will choose the corner that is past the light on the right-hand side of the street. This helps drivers pick up multiple riders without having to change lanes, Uber notes. Uber will also pay attention to the location of bus lanes and avoid picking up there when possible. It has also updated its algorithm to minimize turning, in other not to slow down rides and reduce efficiency of the route. The new algorithm has cut turns by 20 percent, says Uber. Alongside this, the algorithm is now matching drivers and riders in a way that's designed to avoid roundabout routess to keep drivers on more direct routes, TechCrunch reveals.
Another fascinating benefit of this upgrade is that Uber won't give riders a drop-off spot when they request a Pool ride, but will instead recalculate the drop-off spot every few seconds as the car nears the destination. This will also keep the route more efficient and will keep the pool moving, says Uber.
The changes to the ride-sharing service UberPool is only in Manhattan for now. Uber did not say if similar changes would be available in other markets, but Newstac strongly believes that the company will make changes even though its not the exact same ones, in improving the UberPool around the world.
